Half Shade Polarimeter is a useful apparatus for understanding the
concept of polarization. With the help of half shade polarimeter,
polarization can be studied as well as analyzed. For better accuracy in
determination of specific rotation, half shade polarimeter is used which
involves comparing the brightness of two halves in the field of view.
The apparatus is based on Biot`s Law. When a plane polarized light is
passed through an optically active substance, the plane of polarization
of light gets rotated. In order to find out the effect of relative
rotation between the polaroids on intensity of transmitted light, we are
using a half wave plate. Comparing the brightness of the two halves of
half wave plate, one can easily find out the optical rotation produced
by an optically active substance in solution form

Speed Control of DC Motor Scientech 2426 enables Students and practicing
Engineers to gain invaluable practical experience of the principles and
application of analog module in PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers).
The objective is to have and better understanding of how analog signals
are interfaced and controlled with PLC. Speed control of DC motor by PLC
Scientech 2426 has a DC Motor Driver (PWM Method). In this method width
of the pulses is varied in accordance with the reference DC voltage
which is compared with the triangular wave by an Op-amp which is in open
loop mode. Hence in this term speed of the motor is varied.
According to the speed of the motor pulses will be generated using techo
generator which consist of an IR Sensor when the wheel (12 teethed) is
moved between the IR Sensor. When the gap comes between the IR Sensors,
the IR rays pass in this condition. The Output becomes low. When the
teeth come between the IR Sensors, the IR rays do not pass in this case
Output the becomes high. This process continues and the finally
frequency (Train of pulses) is generated. Which goes to the F/V
(Frequency to Voltage) circuit
